The Hasslen Construction Team
Brent serves as principal-in-charge. Since beginning his management career at Hasslen, Brent has over-seen over $700 million in construction projects, honing his leadership, supervisory, and management skills in the process. On the Job, Brent acts in the client’s best interest to monitor progress and weigh the cost and time consequences of design decisions in order to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Brent will be heavily involved in the pre-construction phases and will be present at pre-construction and bidding meetings. Brent received his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Minnesota State University Moorhead in Moorhead, MN.
Having spent time working both out in the field as superintendent and in the office as a project manager/estimator, Brian is a well-rounded industry expert. He enjoys being hands-on with Hasslen projects and is a natural team leader and motivator, making him a valuable asset in the field. In the office, Brian’s extensive knowledge of the construction industry and strong work ethic serve him well in his role as Vice President. Brian graduated from Northwest Technical College in 2003, where he studied Construction Management.
Serving as our Vice President, Jade represents the sixth generation of leadership at Hasslen Construction. In his role, he oversees day-to-day operations, supports business development efforts, and collaborates closely with our CEO and FO on financial management. In addition to his executive responsibilities, Jade also serves as a Project Manager-Estimator and HCC’s Safety Director. He is actively involved throughout the project lifecycle—from initial estimating through final construction. He ensures the preparation of accurate, well-organized estimates through detailed quantity take-offs. During construction, Jade coordinates with on-site personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Jade will plan and implement project-specific safety programs to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment. He will also coordinate monthly site visits to ensure that contractors comply with all safety standards and OSHA regulations.
As a sixth-generation member of Hasslen Construction, Hope is proud to continue a family legacy built on quality craftsmanship, integrity, and service. She earned a degree in Construction Management from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln before joining the military, where she developed strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Those experiences have shaped her collaborative approach to working with clients, subcontractors, and project teams. In her role at Hasslen Construction, she is involved in project management and estimating, helping guide projects from planning through completion. She is passionate about building strong relationships and fostering trust with clients and partners, recognizing that lasting connections are the foundation of successful projects.
Bryn joined Hasslen Construction in 2019. As our CFO/Office Manager, he oversees the company’s financial operations, including budgeting, cash flow forecasting, job costing, financial reporting, and contract management. He collaborates closely with project leadership to ensure projects remain within budget and operate efficiently. In addition, Bryn manages the company’s employee benefits programs and office operations. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Northern State University in 2015, majoring in Professional Accountancy with a minor in Economics. Bryn is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Minnesota and South Dakota.
Christy joined the Hasslen team in 2005, serving as the company’s receptionist and administrative assistant. She works closely with the president, CFO, and project managers to provide personnel support. In addition, she manages human resources for Hasslen and oversees general office operations. Christy graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Psychology.
Kendra joined Hasslen Construction in 2022. As our Project Administrator, she helps keep projects running smoothly behind the scenes by supporting project managers and superintendents with day-to-day details. Kendra works closely with field teams, subcontractors/vendor partners and clients, helping ensure communication stays clear from pre-construction through project close-out. She also assists the CFO with contracts, change orders, and project billing. Kendra holds a Business degree from South Dakota State University.
Colt has been a superintendent with Hasslen since 2020. He joined our team in 2016 and worked summers while attending college. His 12+ years of construction experience allow him to supervise daily operations on the project site, keeping budget and scheduling on track throughout the duration of the project. Colt has a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from St. Cloud State University.
Dean has been superintendent with Hasslen since 2002 and has over 35 years of construction experience. With this experience Dean has the skills to supervise all daily field operations. He will work with the project manager to ensure proper scheduling of work force, equipment and materials. Dean has a degree in Carpentry from Alexandria Technical College.
Dale has been a superintendent with Hasslen since 2005. His 25+ years of construction experience allow him to supervise daily operations on the project site, keeping budget and scheduling on track throughout the duration of the project. He works with project managers to coordinate subcontractor performance, record daily field progress reports, and schedule all equipment and material deliveries. Dale has a Bachelor of Science in Fitness Management and Business Administration from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN.
Charlie has been with Hasslen since 1998. His 35+ years of construction experience allow him to supervise daily operations on the project site, keeping budget and scheduling on track throughout the duration of the project. He works with project managers to coordinate subcontractor performance, record daily field progress reports, and schedule all equipment and material deliveries.
Ryan has been a superintendent with Hasslen since 2017. He is responsible for daily operations on the project site, working closely with project managers to supervise onsite subcontractors, coordinate the field work force, and schedule all equipment and material deliveries. He records daily progress and other important activities on the job. Ryan has over 28 years of construction experience and has proven he is skilled at keeping projects on schedule and within budget.
